Making tactics work on a six-inch screen

Making tactics work on a six-inch screen

Grid strategy on a phone sounds like a recipe for misclicks, yet some games nail it. The difference is almost always in the little quality-of-life touches.

Ironcrown Tactics is our current favorite example. It lets you preview a move's outcome before you commit, so you never lose a unit to a mis-tap. That one feature removes most of the frustration touchscreen strategy usually has.

Good zoom and clear unit icons matter just as much. If you can't tell your archer from your spearman at a glance, the whole thing falls apart on a small display.

If you're new to mobile tactics, start on a lower difficulty and use every preview and undo the game gives you. It's not cheating — it's how these games are meant to be learned.
