When grinding feels good and when it doesn't

Every RPG has grinding. The question is whether it feels like playing or like paying a toll. After dozens of mobile RPGs we've started to spot the difference early.

Good grinding gives you choices while you do it. In Emberfall Saga, farming materials also means fighting varied encounters, so your inputs still matter. Bad grinding is the same fight on repeat with the auto-battle on.

A quick test: turn off auto-play for ten minutes. If the game is still fun with your hands on it, the designers did their homework. If you immediately want it back on, that's a red flag.

Our general tip is to grind in short, intentional sessions aimed at a specific upgrade, rather than mindlessly. You'll enjoy the payoff more and burn out less.
