Casinacho Games
Casinacho Games caught us off guard. We expected a throwaway time-killer and instead found a laid-back adventure built around exploring small hand-drawn locations, collecting bits and pieces, and solving little environmental puzzles to open the next area. The controls are simple taps and swipes, and everything responds quickly, which matters a lot when you're playing one-handed on a commute.
The structure is bite-sized. Each level is a short scene with a couple of things to figure out — move an object, find a hidden path, match a shape — and then you move on. It never asks for a huge commitment, but there's enough variety in the puzzles that we kept opening it between other things. The art style is warm and readable, and the sound design is gentle rather than annoying.
If we had a complaint, it's that the difficulty stays pretty flat throughout, so puzzle veterans might breeze past most of it. But as a relaxed pick-up-and-play adventure, it does its job well and never overstays its welcome.
